Nicole Wilson, President and Founder of Simplifying Lives for a cause, has been cleaning and organizing local homes since May 2006 as the owner of Life Maid Simple Cleaning & Organizing, LLC. She understands the importance of clean and organized homes, especially for patients undergoing cancer treatment. “We help people simplify their lives. Now we have the opportunity to help people in our community by providing them with a clean home while they focus on battling cancer.”
Nicole lost her grandmother to cancer over 12 years ago, and has had many clients and friends battle cancer. Through these experiences she learned there is a need to relieve the stress associated with cancer by providing free home cleaning during this difficult time. “Cancer patients have enough to worry about; their home shouldn’t be one of them.”
After the word got out about what we did for women undergoing treatment for cancer, we founded Simplifying Lives, for a cause in 2009 so we could help men, women, and parents of children undergoing treatment for cancer. We wanted to be able to help all families fighting cancer!
Taia Younis joined the Board of Directors in late 2011. As a professional event planner and Owner of Inspired Occasions Weddings & Events, Taia lends her organizational and creative talents to the group, especially in the area of creating successful fundraising events. Having lost several family members to Cancer and been witness to the personal struggles of their caregivers, Taia understands the importance of what Simplifying Lives seeks to do every day.“It’s a simple mission and some may think it small, but I know firsthand that if we can lessen the burden of typical day to day chores for these patients and their families and allow them to focus on healing, the impact is profound.”A mother of two children who have also been affected by Cancer, Taia hopes her involvement in Simplifying Lives shows them that there are many ways to support other families fighting this formidable disease.

When asked why she aligned herself with this cause, “I wanted to be a part of something different, having had lost loved ones with cancer this cause is very near and dear to me. Also, being able to join something at its beginning stages means I have more of a chance to make an impact to help it grow. I can truly feel President and founder Nicole Wilson’s passion for this cause and that is something I wanted to help build upon.”
